The proximal SF-1 site inhibits transcription of the MIS type II receptor gene. Luciferase experiments were done as described. Mutations were made in the proximal (*200) or distal (*250) SF-1 sites or both (DM) and the unknown site at −91 to −99 (*unk) in the context of the 1.6-kb full-length fragment driving the luciferase reporter. The luciferase activity was normalized to the wild-type pFL and plotted. These experiments were done in triplicate a minimum of four times for each plasmid, and the error bars represent SEM.
