The PKL transcript is expressed throughout the plant. Ribonuclease protection assays were performed to determine the level of the PKL transcript in the root, rosette, inflorescence, and siliques of Arabidopsis. To show that the probe used was specific for PKL, a ribonuclease protection assay with the same probe was performed with RNA isolated from a wild-type plant and a plant carrying a deletion allele of PKL, pkl-9 (Right). A probe for the cyclophilin transcript ROC3 was used as a positive control.
