Confocal scanning micrographs of biofilm formation by E. coli CSH26cfp (SAR19) on uncoated and coated glass (A) and vinyl plastic (B) surfaces. The biofilms were grown in flow cells in minimal medium at 30°C. The experiment was repeated at least three times, using different batches of the aqueous extract.
