At the four-cell stage, a single ventral blastomere was injected with 1 ng of β-galactosidase (β-gal), 5 pg of Xwnt8, 1 ng of β-catenin, 30 pg of siamois, 200 pg of noggin, or 200 pg of chordin mRNA in combination with 30 pg of β-gal or Eng-Sia mRNA.
