Values are means ± SE. (Units are ml·kg⁻¹·min⁻¹). SAL dogs (n = 7) received intraportal saline infusion during P1–P4; HTP dogs (n = 6) received saline during P1 and intraportal 5-HTP at 10, 20, and 40 μg·kg⁻¹·min⁻¹, respectively, during P2–P4. There were no significant differences between groups.
