Table 1.

Drugs that may interact with adrenaline.

Drug Interaction
Anti-psychotics May antagonize hypertensive effects of adrenaline
Beta-blockers (including eye drops) (1) Reduce efficacy of adrenaline (2) Unopposed alpha-receptor stimulation can lead to bronchoconstriction, bradycardia and severe hypertension
Clonidine Possible risk of hypertension
Dopaminergics (entacapone and rasagiline) Possibly enhance effects of adrenaline
Ergotamine and methysergide Increased risk of ergot poisoning
Linezolid Linezolid is a reversible, non-selective monoamine oxidase inhibitor, see below
Monoamine-oxidase inhibitors (both MAO-A and MAO-B) Increased risk of arrhythmias and hypertension (may cause hypertensive crisis)
Tricyclic anti-depressant Increased risk of arrhythmias and hypertension
