Parameters A1, A2, q1 and q2 were determined from nonlinear regression fit of experimental data to the relation $I(t) = A_{1} exp ( - q_{1} t) + A_{2} exp ( - q_{2} t) + A_{{{rm BKG}}} $ (Equation (10) in Materials and methods). All experiments were conducted at 37°C in LS3 buffer containing 3 mM Mg2+.
