A, Analysis of SRC-1 by Western blot. Tissue extracts were prepared from the aorta of WT and KO (SRC-1−/−) mice. The SRC-1−/− tissue served as a negative control and the β-actin was assayed as a loading control. B & C, SRC-1 immunohistochemical staining in the aortic sections of SRC-1−/− (B, negative control) and WT (C) mice. Positive signals (brown color) were observed in both VSMCs and ECs in WT aorta. D & E, Immunochemical staining of SRC-1 in the cross sections prepared from the remodeled common carotid artery of SRC-1−/− (D) and WT (E) mice after a ligation injury. The SRC-1 immunoreactivity (brown color) was detected in the media and neointimal (NI) cells.
