Figure 2

Expression of steroid 5α-reductase types 1 and 2 mRNA in the human cervix. Total RNA (10 μg) was isolated from cervical stromal tissues obtained from a pool of nonpregnant premenopausal women (NP), pregnant women before labor (NIL), pregnant women in labor (IL), and human adult prostate (Pr). After transfer, the membranes were hybridized to cDNA probes specific for 5α-reductase type 1 (5αR1) or type 2 (5αR2), or glyceraldehyde 3 phosphate dehydrogenase (G3PDH). The molecular size in kilobase is noted. The experiment was repeated with three different samples with identical results.
