In this and subsequent figures, responses represent the mean±s.e.mean from duplicate strips, and n=number of animals. (a) Responses to carbachol in detrusor and mucosal strips were higher than those in intact strips. (b) NKA data are expressed as increase in tension per strip weight. (c) NKA data are expressed as a percentage of the maximum carbachol response in the same strip. For (a) and (c), responses in mucosal strips were significantly higher than those in intact strips (*P<0.05, **P<0.01, repeated measures ANOVA followed by Bonferroni test).
