For both NKA and carbachol, responses in mucosal strips were significantly slower than those in detrusor or intact strips (one-way ANOVA, P<0.0001). (b) Rate of rise to peak contraction. The mean carbachol response in mucosal strips was significantly less than in detrusor strips (one-way ANOVA, P<0.05). For NKA, there was no difference between intact, detrusor and mucosal strips. The mucosal responses were not significantly different from each other.
