Effects of ghrelin (4 μg per rat, i.c.v.) on mRNA expression of (a) COX-1 and (b) COX-2 in the gastric mucosa of rat instilled with 1 mL 50% EtOH 60 min before. The saline group received 1 mL of distilled water instead of 50% EtOH. Results are expressed as arbitrary units calculated as the ratio between the OD of either COX-1 or COX-2 and the OD of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase in the same sample.
