Table 2.

Within group adjusted blood pressure change from baseline after exercise and non-exercise control over 9 hr among the men without and with the metabolic syndrome {Mean ± SEM (95% Confidence Interval)}*

* Baseline = Adjusted blood pressure (Mean ± SEM) of the pre-experiment 20 min period of seated rest for non-exercise control, LIGHT and MODERATE. Baseline BP did not differ among experiments so that average baseline BP for the three experiments is presented in Table 2; Post-Pre Experiment Change = Hourly blood pressure change after the experiment minus baseline blood pressure averaged over 9 hr.

**p < 0.05, †p < 0.01, ‡p < 0.001 exercise vs non-exercise control; §p < 0.05 exercise vs non-exercise control with vs without the metabolic syndrome.

LIGHT, 40% VO2peak; MODERATE, 60% VO2peak.
