NITR gene clusters independently evolved in medaka and zebrafish. Neighbor-joining tree relating NITR V domains in medaka and zebrafish. NITRs that are present within the same gene cluster are highlighted in different shades of purple (medaka) or green (zebrafish). Orange and yellow outlines indicate conserved synteny.
