Nod2^−/− and Nod2^+/+ mice in the C57BL/6j background were orogastrically inoculated with 1×10⁷ CFU of YPIII(pIB102) and their livers and spleens were analyzed at day 5. (a) Bacterial counts were lower in Nod2^−/− (n = 29) than in Nod2^+/+ (n = 27) mice (Mann Whitney test, bars show medians).
