β-galactosidase activity of E. coli DH5α/λRS45toxPO strains that carried the wild-type dtxR (pRDA, ○) and partial diploid strains of E. coli DH5α/λRS45toxPO that carry both the wild-type dtxR and mutant alleles encoding either SAD2 or SAD3, pRDA/pDM2A [♦], or pRDA/pDM3A [▴]. β-galactosidase activity was assayed after growth of E. coli strains in the absence or presence of increasing concentrations of DP.
