Blood was collected from experimentally-infected birds that survived infection between days 69–89 post-infection (PI) when parasitemias had reached chronic levels. Pectoral muscle was collected from experimentally-infected birds that succumbed to infection between days 16–26 PI when acute phase parasitemias were high.
