A, a plot of the change in paired-pulse ratio (PPR) as it relates to changes in LE induced by TBS. Pairs of APs delivered at 20 Hz were used to evoke EPSPs in the second cell. The amplitude of the second EPSP was divided by the first and normalized over the baseline period (data from 5/5 pairs in which PPR was monitored). Below, average traces of the second EPSP (30 sweeps) recorded during the baseline period and following potentiation (left) and depression (right). The wamplitude of the first EPSP is scaled (not shown) to highlight the change in PPR.
