(A) DNase I extracts prepared from Tetrahymena macronuclei were incubated with chicken core histones and ³H-acetyl-CoA (Ac) and/or ³H-AdoMet (Me) before filter binding and liquid scintillation counting. (B) A peptide containing N-terminal sequences 1–20 of H3 or a similar H3 peptide that was di-acetylated at lysines 9 and 14 was incubated with or without macronuclear extract and ³H-AdoMet before filter binding and liquid scintillation counting.
