Table 2.

Percent partitioning between monomeric, kissing-loop (KL), and 7extended duplex (ED) forms at different stages of the two-step process of dimerization and isomerization. The percentage of each species in solution was estimated as described in Materials and Methods. Each determination was repeated in triplicate and the final values carried on average a standard deviation of ±2.5%. The first column reports estimates obtained at room temperature in the absence of NC, the second after 3 h incubation at 37°C. The third column reports estimates obtained immediately after addition of three fold NC over total RNA at room temperature, the fourth after 3 h incubation at 37°C in the presence of NC.
