(a) Nuclear NF-κB DNA binding activity was assessed by EMSA at the indicated times after sustained stimulation with LPS (1 μg/ml). Macrophages were treated with either ethanol (E) or 100 μM DCPA (D). (b) The specific NF-κB mobility shift phosphoimage was quantified using ImageQuant and normalized to basal levels. Control (○) and DCPA-pretreated (+) macrophages exhibit similar damped oscillatory behavior. Each experiment was performed twice.
