Comparison of measured computation times required for simulations of a 5λ×7.5λ rectangular source using results obtained from the impulse response in Eq. (2), indicated with a dashed line, and the rapid formulation Eq. (6), indicated with a solid line, as a function of the number of Gauss abscissas. This result, along with the result of Fig. 5, shows that the rapid formulation in Eq. (6) simultaneously reduces the errors and the run times relative to those obtained with the impulse response.
