Effects of p300 expression on Tat activity. Hamster CHO cells were transfected with a plasmid containing an HIV-1 LTR-CAT cassette and the neomycin-resistance gene, and stable transfectants were obtained by G418 selection. CAT assays were performed in the absence or 48 hr after transfection of the indicated amounts of pCMV-Tat 101 and of pCMVβp300 (10 μg, where indicated) expression vectors. The results represent the average of at least three independent transfections.
