Overexpression of Y397F has dominant interfering effect on uptake. (A) Bacterial internalization was determined for CEF cells transfected with vector (RCAS), FAK, FRNK, kinase-defective FAK (D562A and K454R), or FAK lacking the autophosphorylation site (Y397F) (Materials and Methods). A representative experiment is shown with error bars indicating the SE for samples prepared in triplicate. %UPTAKE refers to the amount of internalization observed relative to that of the vector-transfected control.
