Whole mount preparations of E10.5 littermates from an intercross of RHA heterozygotes. Although normal embryos differ in the degree of differentiation, they have already advanced to organogenesis. In contrast, the mutant embryo appears as a small structureless mass of tissue (arrow). Genotypes of embryos, analyzed by Southern blot, are presented in Fig. 1E.
