The entropy values were computed from the alignments of DENV sequences using the Antigenic Variability Analyzer software, as described in the Methods . Values were plotted for DENV-1 (A), DENV-2 (B), DENV-3 (C), DENV-4 (D), and all 4 DENV types (E) sequences (2005 dataset). Entropy values around protein cleavage sites are non significant, since the corresponding positions cannot be the center of a nonamer (see Methods ). The triangles below indicate the locations of the pan-DENV sequences in the corresponding proteins.
