Rat1 cells were infected with retrovirus encoding p185 BCR-ABL. Mass populations of drug-selected cells were seeded at a density of 2 × 104 cells per 6-cm2 dish. Colonies were counted after ∼3 weeks. Colony numbers from two plates per assay were averaged.
