Normative ranges (±2 std. dev.) for 35-day-old B6 mice are represented by the horizontal dashed lines. Symbols designate respective background strains for each mutation. Latency provides a measure of synaptic timing and neural conduction. Notable here are the demyelinating mutants (e.g., qk, shi) which show prolonged latencies either for central response peaks (e.g., shi/shi) or both peripheral and central peaks (e.g., qk/qk). Prolonged latencies were also visible for some heterozygotes (+/lnd2J).
