GFP-Liz1p localizes predominantly to the plasma membrane of S. pombe and is excluded from the nucleus. liz1Δ (TE879) cells containing pTE667 were examined microscopically after 48 h on EMM media lacking thiamine. Bright staining is seen in the plasma membrane and septum, with some cytoplasmic staining. GFP-Liz1p appears to be excluded from the nucleus.
