Temperature sensitivity of ribonucleotide reductase also causes abnormal mitoses in liz1⁻ cells. cdc22-M45 (TE878) and liz1Δ cdc22-M45 (TE912) cells were incubated at 36°C for 6 hr, heat fixed, and stained with DAPI. (A) liz1Δcdc22-M45 cells display aberrant mitotic phenotypes. Arrows indicate cells displaying aberrant mitotic phenotypes. (B) The liz1Δcdc22-M45 double mutant displays more aberrant mitoses than either single mutant. Aberrant mitoses include cells with missegregated chromosomes or separated, condensed chromosomes and a septum.
