Immunohistochemical staining of c-kit and SCF in representative serial paraffin sections of human specimens. Note that the strongest immunostaining for c-kit and SCF is restricted to the epithelial cells. A diffuse cytoplasmic immunoreactivity for c-kit and SCF was consistently displayed by fibromuscular stromal cells (arrowhead) in BPH samples.
