For each independent experiment (exp) total RNA was isolated from the indicated cell lines and analyzed by Northern blots using the probes defined in Figure 1 to detect μs, μm, and actin RNA, as shown in Figure 3. The radioactivity in each band was quantified by PhosphorImager, and the values obtained for μs and μm were divided by the value obtained for actin. The quotient obtained for each cell line is expressed as a percentage of the WT quotient. Experiments 2 and 3 correspond to the blots shown in Figure 3, A and B, respectively.
