Interactions of GLUT1 with various domains of GLUT1CBP. Yeast HF7c was cotransformed with plasmids encoding various Gal4 DBD and Gal4 ACT fusion proteins. Transformations were plated onto synthetic dextrose plates lacking tryptophan and leucine. Three isolated colonies from each plate were then patched onto a synthetic dextrose plate lacking tryptophan, leucine, and histidine, and growth was monitored. +, three out of three of the patches grew; −, zero out of three of the patches grew. Yeast SNF-1 and SNF-4 interact in this system and serve as positive controls. Numbers in parentheses refer to the amino acids of each protein that are fused to the Gal4 DBD proteins.
