Over-expression of ZMPSTE24 improves growth and reduces nuclear blebs in fibroblasts with elevated levels of wild-type lamin A. Fibroblasts expressing flag-lamin A, progerin and GFP (control) were transduced at passage 13 with lentiviruses expressing ZMPSTE24 or vector control. Two weeks after transduction, the cells were analyzed for cell growth (A) and nuclear morphology (B) as described in supplementary Materials and Methods. Data shown represent the mean +/− standard deviation of three independent measurements. Statistical significance between treatment groups was determined by a two-tailed student’s t-test. Asterisk denotes p values greater than 0.05.
