Nucleotide and predicted amino acid sequence of GSA7. gsa7 cells were stably transformed with pYWP7-1 (containing a 4.5-kb genomic DNA insert), pYWP7-4 (containing a 4.1-kb genomic DNA insert), pGSA7HA (containing a 2.3-kb ORF of GSA7 with an HA epitope at its C terminus), and pWP-SWI3 (containing a 1.5-kb 3′ fragment of the original 4.1-kb genomic DNA). pGSA7HA(BglI) was linearized within the GSA7gene with BglI to promote insertion into the gsa7 locus. pGSA7HA (BamHI) was linearized within the HIS4 gene with BamHI to promote insertion into the his4 locus. The resulting transformants were analyzed for their ability to rescue the mutant phenotype as described previously (Yuan et al., 1997). The GSA7 ORF encodes a protein of 989 amino acids with a molecular mass of 71 kDa. The GSA7 sequence has a GenBank accession number of AF098976.
