HPLC chromatograms of the products from chemical reactions of (A) TAZ-sulfinic acid and CuCl; (B) TAZ-sulfinic acid and NaClO2; (C) TAZ and NaClO2. (D) TAZ and H2O2 at pH 6.5 or pH 7.5; (E) TAZ and H2O2 at pH 9. The HPLC UV detector was set at 280 nm. In (F) is shown the mass spectrum of the main product from the reaction of TAZ with [18O]H2O2. Reactions (A) and (E) were performed at 37 °C for 2 h, and reactions (B), (C) and (D) were performed at 37 °C for overnight.
