HPA exhibits a stronger binding to 18 (α-GalNAc) while BPA exhibits a stronger affinity for 19 (β-GalNAc) B) Lectin binding to 18 or 20 displayed on supported bilayers. ECA exhibits a stronger affinity for 20 (β-LacNAc). The carbohydrate specificities of the lectin bindings replicate those seen in natural biological systems.
