Thioglycollate-induced aortic intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) staining is greater in Adipoq^−/− mice than in Adipoq^+/+ littermates, an effect that is partially reversed by recombinant mouse total, but not C39A trimeric, Ad. Mice were administered saline or 50 μg/day sc recombinant mouse adiponectin for 3 days. Four hours after challenge with 1 ml ip of 3% thioglycollate or saline, mice were killed and paraformaldehyde-fixed aortic segments harvested for cryosectioning.
