PA stimulates the activation of mTOR/S6K1/S6 and MAPK pathways. Quiescent SMCs were incubated with 100 μmol/l PA for indicated time periods or with 1 μmol/l 5-HT for 5 min. The phosphorylations of mTOR (A) (²⁴⁸¹Ser), S6K1 (⁴²¹Thr/⁴²⁴Ser), S6 ribosomal protein (²³⁵Ser/²³⁶Ser) (B), and ERK (C) (²⁰²Tyr/²⁰⁴Thr) were detected by Western blot analysis. The total mTOR, S6K1, and ERK were reblotted with the individual stripped membrane to normalize the signal of phosphoproteins.
