There was extensive trabecular bone loss in the ipsilateral (A) and contralateral (B) distal femur, as well as in the L4 vertebra (C) compared to control rats (n = 9 per cohort). Anti-NGF treatment partially reversed trabecular bone loss in distal femur, but not in lumbar vertebrae (Fracture+anti-NGF), relative to the vehicle treated fracture rats (Fracture + vehicle). ***P < 0.001 vs. control group, and #P < 0.05, ##P < 0.01 fracture anti-NGF vs. fracture vehicle treatment.
