A. 129Xe dynamic spectra acquired using continuous 129Xe delivery. Each spectrum was acquired at end-inspiration and was averaged over 40 breaths. B. From the spectra at different delay times, the replenishment of 129Xe in RBCs and pulmonary tissues could be readily extracted. Such spectroscopy is useful to quickly assess gas exchange efficiency in rodent models pulmonary disease.
