The percent decrease in the fluorescence of DODC in the presence of the indicated DNA upon addition of 1 or 4 NMM per DODC is listed. The percent decrease is relative to that of the DODC–DNA mixture in the absence of NMM. The DNA concentration was 1 × 10–5 M and the concentration of DODC was 4 × 10–5 M. The analogous values are also listed for DTDC with the same concentrations of DNA and dye. An increase in fluorescence in the case of Vet T4 and 4 NMM was observed for DTDC.
