Suppression of Kaiso protein expression in p120i cells restores H. pylori-mediated increases in mmp-7 mRNA levels. Control or p120i cells transiently transfected with scrambled siRNA, and p120i cells transiently transfected with Kaiso-specific siRNA were cocultured with H. pylori strain 7.13 (MOI = 100) or medium alone. At defined time points, total RNA was extracted, subjected to reverse transcription, and analyzed in triplicate by real-time PCR.
