U3 snoRNA carrying substitutions in Boxes A plus A′ (Box A+) localized as well as wild-type U3 snoRNA to nucleoli. U3 snoRNA with a substitution for Box B or the hinge region (Tag*) labeled nucleoli weakly, whereas U3 with substitutions in Box C or Box D did not label nucleoli at all.
