LC2 cDNA detects an RFLP between 137c and CC2290 strains. DNA from the lab strain 137c and the wild isolate CC2290 was cut with PvuII and analyzed by Southern blotting using the LC2 cDNA as a probe. This probe detects two bands of ∼3.5 and ∼0.9 kbp in 137c but only a single band of ∼2.5 kbp in CC2290.
