Effect of mutants of hairpin loop on myocyte protein synthesis.
Compared with the MBP-wild type myotrophin fusion, incorporation of
3[H]leucine into neonatal rat ventricular myocytes was suppressed
in cells treated with MBP-myotrophin mutants at glutamic acid 33 (E33A),
arginine 36 (R36A), aspartic acid 65 (D65A), and lysine 66 (K66A), but not in
histidine 68 (H68A). The data show the means (± S.E.) of three
independent sets of results.
