(A,B) MTJs in diaphragm muscle from wild-type and mutant animals were analyzed by transmission electron microscopy to reveal the lamina densa. A continuous basement membrane (arrowheads) was present at the MTJ in mutants; t, tendon, m, muscle. (C-N) Localization of proteins to MTJs (arrows) was analyzed by immunofluorescence microscopy.
