AFM analyses of spores of various strains. Purified spores of various strains were analyzed by AFM and photographed as described in Materials and Methods. The spores analyzed were from strains PS533 (wild-type) (a), PS3328 (cotE) (b), PS4149 (gerE) (c and d), and PS4150 (cotE gerE) (e and f). Bars, 500 nm.
