Intratracheal injection of recombinant human high-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) induces dose-dependent influx of neutrophils in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid. HMGB1 neutrophil chemotactic activity was observed in (A) wild-type BALB/c mice or (B) endotoxin-resistant C3H/HeJ mice.
