A. Metaphase spreads were prepared from JCV-infected astrocytes and uninfected controls at 5 days and 14 days post-infection. Representative photomicrographs are shown. B. For each condition, 70 metaphases were scored as being either diploid or aneuploid/hyperploid (≧ 4n), and the percentage of aneuploid/hyperploid cells plotted for each time point. C. Micronuclei formation was scored as described in Materials and Methods and the results plotted for two concentrations of cytochalasin B.
